Privacy policy
Effective 2026-07-04 · PlainLanguage.us is a product of extrAIntelligence LLC
This policy is written the way we write everything: plainly. The short version: we keep almost nothing, and we never keep your documents.
What we never collect
The text you translate. Documents are processed in memory and returned. They are not stored, not logged, not used to train anything, and not shared with anyone, including AI providers. There are none in our pipeline.
What we collect, and why
- Billing details: your email address and subscription status, through Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number goes to Stripe directly and never touches our systems.
- A hash of your API key: it lets us recognize your requests. We cannot recover the key itself.
- Usage counts: how many API calls your key made this billing period. That's a number, not content.
What lives in your browser
If you use the web workspace, your API key and your theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage, on your machine. "Forget on this browser" on the account page removes the key. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
Who else is involved
Two subprocessors: Cloudflare (hosting and compute) and Stripe (payments). No data brokers, no ad networks, no analytics that identify you.
Your choices
- Cancel any time in the billing portal; your subscription record stays only as long as accounting rules require.
- Revoke your API key to end access immediately.
- Email privacy@plainlanguage.us to ask what we hold about you (it will be a short answer) or to have it deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page with a new effective date, not bury it.
